Even though the classic Airstream shape has always been recognizable, its popularity has made a recent resurgence. Airstreams are showing up in TV commercials for trucks and even breakfast cereal. That’s because savvy marketers know the power of the Airstream. That iconic ‘streamlined’ shape has been a part of our lives for over 80 years and the love is showing no signs of fading any time soon.
So why not take that eye catching appeal and use it to your advantage! Here’s some graphic marketing ideas for your trailer.
Rolling Billboard
You may be setting up at trade shows or large outdoor events where a trailer like this will definitely draw the eyes. This rolling billboard will also be a looker on the highway and PetSmart is taking full advantage of that on this trailer.
PART POLISHED ~ PART WRAPPED
Snowmass Base Village is a new modern condominum complex in Colorado. To keep things warm and homey, they decided on this 1959 Airstream Caravanner to be prominently placed in the center of the complex next to their skating rink. This classic cutie holds 200 pairs of ice skates ready to be rented out. Snowmass wanted a modern mountain and pine tree design for the trailer but still be able to see some of the polished aluminum. The great design features stylistic mountains and trees along with blue sky that wraps over the top of the trailer to cut down on glare from any residents looking down on the beautiful scene.
CAMO WRAPPED
Are you promoting hunting, fishing or military related items? This trailer grabs everyone’s attention – even though it’s camouflaged! This brown ‘Fall Swamp’ camo wrap can be done in other camouflage patterns for your Airstream project.
DIAMOND STRIPED
Here is one of the painted diamond striped Airstreams created for Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. This trailer serves up BBQ to hungry vacationers on the beach. After the trailer was painted, a final clear coat was sprayed on for a beautiful pearl finish.
BLACK ON SHINE
Black graphics look good against the mirror finish exterior of an Airstream. The team at Fulton Beer in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota took full advantage of that on this old Sovereign. The Taproom Kitchen looks great parked at their North Loop taproom. It’s dead sexy with double sided pass-through windows, a grill, and a vertical meat roaster.
YELLOW SUBMARINE
Although they are beautiful when polished to a mirror finish, Airstreams also look cool with graphics! How about totally painted on the outside showing none of that trademark aluminum shine. You know what? They look great, too!
If the Airstream shape doesn’t grab their attention, the yellow certainly will. This Argosy yellow submarine (complete with real brass ship’s port hole windows) is serving pizza and waffles in Ireland.
DON’T FORGET THE WINDOWS
If our eyes are the windows to our soul, maybe the chrome twinkie windows are the way to more sales. The point is – don’t forget they are there and ready for use as more advertising space.
ADVERTISE YOUR MENU
Now that the Airstream has grabbed their attention, tell potential customers what you have to offer. Make your trailer do double duty as a rolling billboard.
NOW TAKE 5
Even marketing folks have to take a break now and then.
